Malaria is a disease caused by Plasmodium spp. protozoa. The ability of to develop resistance current antimalarial drugs makes the study chemotherapeutic alternatives extremely important. This aimed evaluate activity compound 3286938 (1-(3-benzyloxy-4-methoxy-phenyl)-3-(3,4,5-trimethoxy-phenyl)-propan-1-one), which presents in its structure 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenyl group, vitro, using W2 strain P. falciparum and against circulating strains vivax from state Rondônia. obtained an IC50 24.4 µM falciparum, strains, it presented median (MD)=38.7 for MD=6.7 falciparum. As toxicity, showed CC50 > 500 VERO HepG2 with selectivity index greater than 12.9, ratio calculated regarding Vero cells. was not considered hemolytic vitro assays, thus indicating specificity antiplasmodial action.
